The Foundation for Academic and Vocational Education (FAVE) has the following teaching/staff vacancies for the academic school year 2022 -2023

  • Business (experience teaching Economics at the upper level would be an asset)

  • Dutch Remedial (experience coordinating “Taaldorp” would be an asset)

  • Biology (experience teaching at the upper level would be an asset)

       Requirements for Teachers:

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized and accredited University is required with Specialization in subject area for CSEC/CXC and Vocational levels

  • Teaching Diploma

  • Excellent written Communication and Interpersonal Skills

  • Must have at least 3 years teaching experience within the CXC/Vocational context

  • Must be computer literate

  • Must be a team player

  • Knowledgeable in teaching on various digital platforms

  • Must be willing to upgrade themselves and keep abreast with innovations in education

  • Preference for a Dutch citizen or legal resident of St. Maarten


      Requirements - CAPE Coordinator:

  • Master’s Degree in Education from a recognized and accredited University

  • Teaching Diploma

  • Must have at least 3 – 5 years experience at the CAPE level

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office - specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

  • Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills

  • The ability to work well in a team environment as well as lead the team

IT Systems Administrator

Administering and implementing all computer-related technologies, including network security, IT infrastructure of the  organization, related applications, hardware, internet operations and software upgrades. The Systems Administrator is responsible for the optimal operation of all computer systems at the St. Maarten Academy and PSVE campuses.  This position also includes the supervision of the Systems Administrator Assistant(s).

 

      Requirements - IT Systems Administrator

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a computer-related subject like Management Information Systems, Information Science or Computer Science

  • Leadership and decision-making abilities

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Experience in BYOD schools is a plus

  • The ability to work well in a team environment as well as lead the team

  • Perform any other related duties as required by the Management and Board of F.A.V.E.

  • Preference for a Dutch citizen or legal resident of St. Maarten

 

Facilities Manager

The Facilities Manager is responsible for the upkeep of the buildings and the management of all service contracts for the proper upkeep of the building and must be able to handle a variety of duties to include:

  • Managing the parking, cleaning and providing leadership to the security, maintenance, landscaping services and ancillary staff

  • Ensuring all basic facilities such as water and cooling are maintained (experience in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering would be a plus)

  • Managing the budget in a cost effective manner

  • Prepare repair plans and other building projects to be completed prior to each new academic year

  • Follow the purchasing and stock procedures

  • Prepare quarterly reports regarding the state of affairs of all buildings with recommendations to the Board

  • Ensure that all legal requirements/regulations for facilities are met and complied with

  • Perform any other related duties as required by the Management and Board of F.A.V.E.

      Requirements – Facilities Manager

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Facilities Management, Operations Management, Systems Management or General Business

  • Leadership and decision-making abilities

  • Excellent administration skills

  • Must be thorough and pay attention to detail

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Must be computer literate

  • Experience in BYOD schools is a plus

  • The ability to work well in a team environment as well as lead the team

  • Must be able to remain calm in stressful situations

  • Knowledge of economics and accounting would be an asset

  • Preference for a Dutch citizen or legal resident of St. Maarten
